A relatively new technology that is being quickly applied to agriculture and food production in Alberta is the use of mapping technology, known as Geographic Information Systems, or GIS. After all, agriculture and food production are both about using the land and moving goods around the province, country, and even the world. We wanted to see how some of this technology was being applied in real operations, so we spoke with Greg Stamp, of Stamp Seeds located in Enchant Alberta, just north of Lethbridge. Greg is a recent graduate of the University of Lethbridge, and did a specialization in mapping and GIS.
