Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) is a not-for-profit organization representing companies that are active in the marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables in Canada from the farm gate to the dinner plate.

Alberta Sheep and Wool Commission
In a growing industry with huge potential, the Alberta Sheep & Wool Commission exists to ensure that every producer has the information, training, and resources necessary to succeed. On February 1, 2009, the Alberta Sheep & Wool Commission became Alberta Lamb Producers.

Alberta Lamb was created by ASWC to promote lamb and to increase consumption and awareness within the province. To do this Alberta Lamb has been actively working on direct marketing initiatives and increasing the amount of high quality Alberta Lamb available in retail stores.

Beef Information Centre
The Beef Information Centre (BIC) is the Beef Market Development division of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association. BIC uses an integrated approach, focusing programs on five key areas – improving the quality & consistency of beef; increasing beef’s convenience; expanding the use and value of all cuts; improving food safety; and improving consumers’ perceptions about beef’s healthfulness and wholesomeness.

Alberta Barley Commission
The Alberta Barley Commission is a not-for-profit organization which is funded, directed and controlled by Alberta barley farmers. The Commission’s mandate is to coordinate and sponsor research, market development, technology transfer, and policy development on behalf of barley producers.

Wild Rose Agricultural Producers
Wild Rose Agriculture Producers (WRAP) is Alberta’s largest producer-funded general farm organization. It is comprised of farmers and ranchers who wish to have a voice in shaping the future of their farming operation.

Alberta Canola Producers Commission
The Alberta Canola Producers Comissions (ACPC) is dedicated to increasing the long-term profitabilitiy of Alberta canola growers. Founded in 1989 as the province’s first refundable checkoff producer organization, ACPC focuses its efforts on research, promotional activities, consumer and producer education programs, and policy development.

The Western Barley Growers Association provides farmers with an informed and effective voice in the agriculture industry of western Canada. The Western Barley Growers Association is an influential farm organization which is voluntarily funded by a large membership made up of farmers, industry and end users.

Alberta Farm Fresh Producers Association is a voluntary membership, non-profit organization representing direct market growers.

Alberta Sugar Beet Growers
Alberta Sugar Beet Growers exists as an organization of farmers striving to create an Alberta sugar beet industry that is vibrant, expanding, profitable and producer driven.

Alberta Beekeepers Association
The Alberta Beekeepers Association provides Alberta beekeepers with a united voice capable of communicating their concerns and convictions to government agencies, the public, and the industry at large. The Alberta Beekeepers Association has been serving the interests of hobby and commercial beekeepers since 1933.

Alberta Turkey Producers
The Alberta Turkey Producers Board was formed on January 6, 1967. Together with industry partners, the Alberta Turkey Producers help to regulate, promote and educate consumers about today’s turkey. The organization is governed by a board of five directors, and represents approximately 55 producers in Alberta.

Alberta Chicken Producers
The Alberta Chicken Producers operate approximately 285 producers. These producers are located throughout the province from north of Grande Prairie – south to the U.S. border. Consequently, 115 million kg of chicken is produced with a farm gate value of $135 million.

Alberta Egg Producers
The Alberta Egg Producers, established in 1968, is a board representing the 165+ registered egg producers in Alberta.

Alberta Pork Producers Alliance
The Alberta Pork Producers Alliance (APPA) was established in April 2005 by the province’s largest pig production companies and currently represents about 25% of the 200,000 sows in Alberta. Excluding the Hutterite community, which owns approximately one-third of all pigs, and family farms that employ no outside labour, APPA members account for around 50% of jobs on hog farms.

Alberta Milk was created for both milk producers and for publics seeking information about how Alberta Milk is involved in the dairy industry. Students might find the website useful for providing information on Alberta Milk’s nutrition and education projects.
