Resourcing for the Future

To business leaders and our colleagues in agriculture and food:

On behalf of the Agriculture & Food Council, I would like to invite you to attend our upcoming Congress for business leaders in the agriculture and food industry. Resourcing for the Future, the 2009 Human Resource Congress will take place in Calgary, Alberta on April 7th and 8th, 2009.

As you are aware, the agriculture and food industry in Alberta continues to face a number of issues. Difficult economic circumstances, leadership and management challenges as well as our industry’s image as an employer continues to contribute to the labour and talent obstacles faced by the agriculture and food industry. The Agriculture & Food Council has been addressing human resource issues and opportunities since Ag Summit in 2000. Continuing our role as a catalyst, Council has undertaken to host this Congress as a venue for industry leaders and stakeholders to understand challenges and address opportunities in 2009 and beyond.

Congress attendees will learn of current issues and trends through educational speakers, peer strategy sessions, and collaborative discussion. Our agenda includes experts on a wide array of issues as attendees examine the challenges, locally and abroad, in agriculture and food as well as other industries. The event will provide you with valuable business tools for making use of human resources as an asset instead of a cost to your company and serve as a platform for debating and managing strategies and solutions for the future of talent in Canada.

This is a call to action. If you only attend one event this year, make this the one.

Please share this invitation to those in your networks that may also benefit from this opportunity. Further information and registration forms can be found at www.resourcingforthefuture.ca or by contacting the Congress coordinator at 403-686-8407 or hrc@imcievents.ca. We look forward to seeing you in April.
